Adventures in the Far East
on September 12, 2016
Hi guys – as much as I hate to do this, I have to take a break from the comic from a few weeks. I got the opportunity to go explore China and Japan for a few weeks and it is something I cannot pass up. I was hopeful I could get some buffer strips under my belt – but work and all that conspired to make it impossible. So I’m taking off tomorrow for faraway lands. Keep an eye on my Twitter and my Facebook page for updates (assuming that I don’t land in a faraway jail or ditch). Comic will be back on October 10th, 2016.
At this point, with so much dead air, one might as well confirm this webcomic as abandoned. No new post. No new comic. No updates.
I will miss Atomic Laundromat.
Yeah I have to unfortunately agree with you . Very likely a “I have decided after my trip that im going to enjoy life and not do the comic any more but I cant come out and tell you all on here in case you all try and make me feel bad and lure me into returning” or some such.
Seen it happen to so many good web comics over the last few years. Some genuinely say they have an ending planned, some are bored and realised there is more to life as its taking so long to do each page every day (hey in that case don’t make a daily comic!), some do the “cant afford to do it”, one I remember years ago had been stunning artwork and he randomly came on and said “He hates drawing and never wanted to be an artist”. That was the most random one I have ever read.
With costs of hosting and what not I can see why some ask (or even demand) Patreon or they are forced to put advert bars or other things on which can make them earnings but instead can lead to viewers complaining etc. It is a shame though, like many here I have followed this comic for years even with the other hiatus’s and shame to not see the conclusion. Another sad item to remove from my favourites bar.
Alas, we shall never know if the little princess ascends the throne, what will become of David’s love when the side effects of her drugs take over, what is the big bad that David’s father fears, and why/how/motive for the prosecutor becoming a woman.
Farewell to Razz @tweetwallytweet Nov 27
@ArmandoVa Some hope for Atomic Laundromat?
Armando Valenzuela @ArmandoVa Nov 27
@tweetwallytweet ill make a post about it soon
Well, it seems like this comic is dead.
Did you actually end up in a foreign jail or ditch? The radio silence has stretched longer than a month — are you okay, sir?
He’s posted on Twitter as recently as the 12th. I just think the comic is abandoned at this point. Perhaps he’ll come prove me wrong.
A month overdue and no word unless word was posted elsewhere. I enjoy this comic a lot but this comic is one of several that I read that have recently stopped updating. I make financial contributions when I can, usually buying something, but I am poor and cannot do a lot in that regard, so I don’t complain a lot, at least I try not to complain a lot. But I am getting worried about the artist. Does anybody know anything?
The radio silence is becoming concerning. Selfishly I would hate to lose one of my favorite comics, unselfishly I hope everything is ok in his world.
Gee, I wonder if he’s in jail or in a ditch somewhere…he’s late.
He tweeted a bit, that he got home on the seventh, and some more on the twelfth. My guess: a pile of work at the office ambushed him. ^_^
Hmmm, still no new comic.
OK, which jail are you in? I can try to get someone ‘local’ to sent you a file in a pork bun. Hope you weren’t carrying a picture of the Dalai Lama.
I wanna commmiiiicccc……
funny I didn’t see this message til you were already almost back. Hope you had fun!
We’ll only forgive you if you take tons of pictures and then post the links.
¡Muy buen viaje! Seguramente no descansarás dibujando aquí y allá, pero que sea un momento que disfrutes sin presión. ¡Nos vemos en octubre!
As much as I’ll miss the story, we all need to remember that you have another life – one that makes this cartoon thing go.
Enjoy the Far East.
Bring us something! Not just crummy T-shirts, either!
Excellent! Go for it and enjoy. Not a lot of people get this kind of chance, so make the most of it.
No worries, man. Have a great trip! We’ll be here when ya get back.
