About that update schedule…
Let’s get this out of the way upfront: I haven’t been able to update the comic as often as I would like (or you would like, for that matter).
There’s a lot of reasons to be offered (some bordering on excuses, to be honest) – everything from being away for a couple of weeks, stuff piling up at the day job – and making sure everything gets done there, since there is a VERY strong round of layoffs at said day job – and just stuff to do around the house. On top of that, I’ve had a severe case of writer’s block (cliché, I know). It’s been mostly a frustration that I know I don’t have the skill to draw what I want to write, so I don’t dare write it. It’s kinda screwed up.
ANYWAYS, sob story over. Not making excuses for the erratic schedule – just stating the situation as is. The comic is not in danger of being abandoned, that’s not in the books, but being completely transparent I don’t know if the Monday-Wednesday-Friday is a goal I can hit in the immediate term. Of course that’s what I want, but whether I can get there… that’s the open question. I will shoot for that and keep you guys more updated on what’s going on and avoid pulling disappearing acts. That’s the least I can do.
As always, feel free to drop me a line if there’s anything in your head about all this.
Thanks for sticking with Atomic Laundromat!
This lawyer needs to see a shrink.
The fact that this effort is still here is wonderful. The clarification of your desire to keep creating is fabulous. Everything else is just DETAILS. Thank you for the art.
Its your party you can draw if you want to.
also… Spice girls reference really? People we’ve been spice rolled.
I enjoy seeing the comics when it is updated. There is really no need to rush to meet a weekly self-imposed deadline when this is not your source of income. Post an update when you are ready.
Keep in mind that 2 years from now you will be doing better artwork, but only if you keep doing artwork
That because you will be doing better is no reason to be down on yourself for your current level. Take Care, Have Fun
I totally love your work — the art, the personalities, the story lines. Even with writer’s block, your creations continue to delight me. you are better than you might realize. Please don’t do a Bill Watterson!
I think as long as we don’t see a “fuck it, I’m done with the comic” post, none of us are going to give you a hard time about your life and job getting in the way of a web comic schedule. Alphabetical sorting of my webcomic bookmarks aside, this is the first comic I check when I do my daily rounds.
Unless this is paying your bills mate, its just a hobby. (even if its keeping you in Pizza and beer money its still a hobby) Real work comes first. It ain’t your job to entertain us its your choice to do so. Good luck in the layoffs been there done that got the over extended bills to show for it.
Ditto with Ray above–you could go to one day a week if necessary. Life can be the shits sometimes and you can only do so much!
If you need to slow it down, change up the pace, cool. Just make sure you try to keep up a regular pace even if it is slower. Having a rhythm helps preserve momentum.
Feedback and explaining the situation is welcome, better to know for sure that there’s the intention to continue than to speculate if the comic is still alive. Just do what you can, and if the schedule is to complicated, reduce it to once a week or something.
Anyway, good luck.
Do what you can. You can only do what you can do.
I understand fully what you’re going through. I put my comic on hold (I can’t pronounce “hiatus”) a while back because of crippling creative block after my Mom passed away. It just doesn’t make me happy right now, and I just refuse to do what doesn’t make me happy these days. I’m still trying to find what DOES make me happy. When I do, I’ll try doing that to get back to my comic.
So I can’t complain about your choices if I make the same ones. Do what you have to do, and come back when you can.
Regular posts with whatever achievable frequency is better than your burning out and the comic ending not with a bang but with silence.
Dude, I think your art is great! I’ve seen plenty of web comics that don’t look as good as this that have pretty compelling story lines. Shoot for the moon
You’ll get better and evolve over time, and we’ll love every bit of it! Meanwhile, don’t sweat the update thing. I’ve been following some web comics that come much, much slower. It’s free reading, so I’ve got no right to complain! I just enjoy a good story.
Have you thought about starting up a Patreon account so that readers can support you?
todo es culpa de peña nieto
No worries!I enjoy them when I see them. And I understand the pressures of the bill-paying part of life!
Cheers!

Do what you can when you can. Some of the comics I enjoy only update once or twice a week.
