And now, a word
Well, it’s no surprise something’s going on — given that there haven’t been new comics in a while.
I have a lot of things currently going on (work, etc.) that have prevented me from doing the comic the way I want. At the same time, even though the art/writing has drastically changed in the last few months there is so much pending housekeeping around the comic that it’s not even funny. Housekeeping like a new webpage, finally setting up our store, finishing up stuff to put up in said store, re-do my marketing strategy… now more than ever, being in webcomics isn’t just about the comics, but so much more. And it is the “so much more” I just haven’t had the time for in the time I have after work. And I realized that if I want to actually keep doing the comic, I can’t neglect it any longer. Go big or go home and all that.
So with that in mind, I’m taking a bit of a planned break. I will work on the comic’ “so much more” for the next month, making sure that Atomic Laundromat is ready for its next four years. I hate to not put comics out – but I think it will be for the best.
As always, thanks for your support. I hope to see you all again soon.
Se “da a querer” esta mujer… Guapa, inteligente, y con una gran agilidad mental para apoyar a su novio.
Saludos!!!
P.D. se extraña el comic en español, se que a muchos no se les da el ingles por estos rumbos.
The Disqus comments and Twitter feed don’t seem to be working in Firefox. They work in Chrome though.
Damn… This site has always given me trouble in Firefox. Why do you hate Firefox so, oh mighty laundromat gods?
Liking the new look, and the new update. Complete with moral, no less: Never keep a princess waiting.
Io and behold, a new webpage appears.
Nice avatar choice. ^///^
Started reading this a couple days ago (someone on the Grrl Power comments posted a link saying how Ari and Angela should meet up and compare notes)
Really enjoying the comic, but have couple observations:
1) Dave looked better in the beginning when you couldn’t see his eyes
B) Rocket Girl looks a lot like a brunette Hazel from Girls With Slingshots
iii) Probably the only one who thinks this, but Juno & Dani would make a cute couple (if Dani was a few years older of course)
You are not the only one who thinks that, to be honest.
Hmm… Alright, I’ll ship that too.
Hmmm, now have to try and figure out which observation that answer goes with
Hiatus still on
But it cannot stop Haiku
Anniversary
Romance at the Mat’
Rocket Girl cross Robot Man
Duck ate my ice cream
Oxford stands steadfast
Before the vile Scrabble tiles
Puts them in their place
We’re still doing this?
I thought this tradition died
Many years ago.
Then again, why not?
We’re all just having fun here.
Might as well write these.
Damn. Finally caught up!
I can understand the need to take a hiatus and do things right? I’ve always enjoyed your comic and I look forward to the July return!
good to get an update, i’ve encountered brilliant webcomics that just went MIA AWOL etc and nobody heard from the ppl making it, Orion i am looking at you!
Well, July 7th is a long wait for a true believ…. TRUE FAN. But if the wait ensures 4 years of continuity, wellcome awaits. There are great news!
Thanks, Mr. Valenzuela. Your art is appreciated. Very much.
Let me say it in my own words: Eres GRANDE Armando! Gracias!
I’ve never really understood ‘go big or go home’. I”m sick of everything being big or going home.. I’d rather have a lot of things that decided to go medium or small, because it suited them.
Oh well, looking forward to the return.
You might wanna stop by 4chan’s /co/ webcomics threads, a lot of people there seem to be experts in monetization
It’s just an expression. It’s either take this seriously or GTFO, to put it in a different way.
A sketch of the lovely Angela is a nice way to soften the blow
Sounds like exciting times ahead. I’m look forward to the changes.
Suitcase (his wife is the author of BIttersweet Candy Bowl) might be able to help you out on the whole monetization deal. He and his wife were in the same boat a while back and they’ve had some good success, and Suitcase in particular is interested in helping other webcomic authors monetize their comics in ways other than just annoying their readers with ads and guilt trips asking for donations.
You can hop on their IRC channel on their site if you want to talk to him, he might have some useful insight.
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the new and improved Atomic Laundromat when you return!
