Perception

Image inducers were a lazy plot device in the X-Men, specially in the late eighties or whenever Chris Claremont was at the wheel. The non-human-looking mutants (like Nightcrawler or Beast) would go out in public looking like normal humans while using them and have perfectly normal outings. Of course the image inducers failes at the first sight of an evil mutant, random happenstance, or when the story called for them to be angsty.

ANYHOW. The internet is evil.  Leopold is a quite obvious amalgam of Dr. Jumba from Lilo and Stitch and the Predator. I had to dig up some image references to do the design. Guess which one yielded porn.

YES, BOTH.

Did Angela drop her coffee again? Because she looks calm as zen but her hand is gone.

Ah, the horrors of Rule 34(There is porn of it. No exceptions

I see Angie is still drinking the Evil Chef coffee. My guess is that she has gotten so caffeine wired she has reached the next level and is only one step away from nirvana, or a complete meltdown. Hence the nonchalant attitude with Leopold.

    LILO & STITCH FTW!!
Stitch needs to make a guest appearance in this comic. I love that evil little blue bastard. Can you imagine the damage he could cause if he teamed up with Quark..? :D Anyway, I’d be more scared of Leopold in his real form. I’d stick with that, if I were him.
Oh and the expressionless face works for me, mainly because it reminds me of Kaolla Su from Love Hina. I think he’s going for the “Ohhh… Shiny!!” look there. (Though I would recommend making her eyes larger and maybe adding a slight hint of a mouth next time, Armando… Might look a bit more appealing that way.)
One more thing: I LOVE DANI!

It’s the lack of features, not the lack of expression. Having the nose and mouth vanish completely into the face with only eyes remaining looks odd, even if it is used elsewhere. But maybe it’s just me.

      • Wolfen says:

Which is why I suggested that he enlarge the eyes and add a small mouth, so that it wouldn’t look quite so odd. I suppose I actually agree with you that it looks a bit odd, I just like the idea of the “whoaaa…” expression he was trying to create there. Needs a bit of fine tuning, is all.

I think human Leopold is scarier, his real form looks so jolly.
Kinda reminds me of the shooting range scene from Men In Black.

Opps…I must have accidentally clicked the reply button.

        • Wolfen says:

Now that you mention it, he does look sorta jolly… Prolly his resemblance to Dr. Jumba. Though I was thinking more Secret Service than MIB. Now we’re just left wondering if his personality is closer to Dr. Jumba or the Predator. I guess that would factor into whether or not I’m afraid of him, too…

Actually i meant that his human form being scarier reminded me of that scene because Jay thinks that aliens are OK but shoots the little girl.

Yes, the internet is evil. Truly it is said that if you ask it to “find people having sex with goats while on fire”, the internet will respond “specify type of goat”.

So… this guy going to be a regular character? He’s going to need that suit cleaned….

Oh, and I’m not sure about the lack of Dani’s features in panel 1.

    • Wolfen says:

Yes, but Dr. Jumba on the Predator..? That’s some serious nightmare fuel right there… Not that some dude banging a goat as he burns to death isn’t also horrifying, mind you.

    • Armando says:

More like regular background character. Doing a sassy bodyguard character veers even closer to Venture Bros territory…
