Revelations

As some of you have better things to do over the weekend, this is probably your first encounter with the new Atomic Laundromat site! A year in, the site was due for a revamp, and the design is a lot less cluttered. There is still some work to do, like bringing back the donations page (hint, hint) but the site migration overall is done – with all comics and comments intact. Phew! One of the newer things that some of you were asking for was to subscribe via email – so if that’s your cup of tea, knock yourself out.

Also, I’m pleased to present the Spanish version of Atomic Laundromat! That site has its own URL and RSS feed, so the two experiences won’t overlap. The translation project is mostly done (and it has been an interesting experience to say the least) but it should be good to reach new audiences that way.

If you were away at Comic-Con or otherwise – make sure to catch up on the comics. You missed some explodey minion fun.

So, how hard was it to do the transition from CP to Webcomic? I wanna transition away since Comic Press is just annoying me lately. It’s not walking comics like I want them to do it, and I’m just generally tired of dealing with it.

    • Armando says:

IT wasn’t that hard. Make sure you migrate from comicpress to Webcomic 2 and THEN upgrade to webcomic 3 – there’s no migration path straight into webcomic 3 from comicpress.

Well, there’s the theory that any man in the presence of a woman is classed as accessories to her outfit. And Angela’s gone into fashion shock at having hung out with someone suitless.

Ah well, there’s always the shirt and tie from strip #1

Like the site layout, it looks good.

Well so much for David’s mug, hopefully it wasn’t his favorite one.

And BTW, I do think that suit are AWESOME!

  10. Otto says:

I didn´t get it… the joke about “needing a moment”, can anyone explain? :(

    • Armando says:

That wasn’t really a joke per se… it was just her needing a moment to recover from the shock.

    • Dusty668 says:

I thought it was a reference to Ally McBeal from the 90′s. One of the lead characters tag lines was “I need a moment” He was one of the senior partner lawyers. Remember the dancing Baby meme?

Woop. Just got back from weekend away.

    Site is shiny.

  12. Baughbe says:

I think I like the new site. Always hold full commitment until the second cup of coffee.

What’s the big deal about not owning a suit?

  13. Anonymous says:

Are you serious about the AL mugs going on sale soon, or was it just a joke? Because if you’re serious, you know I’m gonna be the first in line… *cough–Hensonite plushies–cough*

Anyway, I don’t see what the big deal is… I don’t own a suit either. Can’t stand em. I feel like I’m in a straitjacket when I’m in one.

Also, loving the Spanish version of the comic, though I notice the translations aren’t exact. For example: in the previous comic, Juno says she’s gonna get the cleaning supplies, while in Spanish she tells Bob to help her. Also, shouldn’t it be Lavanderia Atómica, and not Super Lavanderia?

    • Wolfen says:

That was me sorry, forgot to enter my info.

    • Armando says:

You are right about the translations not being exact. In my experience, literal translations don’t work, as a lot is left behind in the original language. I need to put some effort into localizing as well as translating the strip – some puns just wouldn’t work in Spanish, though fortunately I’m mostly pun-free in my writing.
