Spoiler alert

Update: Blacked out the actual spoiler at the bequest of some die-hard Muggles. Wikipedia is your friend if you live under a rock and you’re not planning to either read the books or watch the movies.

The duck is in shock. And even worse, he was a Harry/Hermione ‘shipper. Poor little thing.

Anyhow, I had a little impromptu live stream the other day, just to try out, and it was quite fun. So we’ll do it again! Next Tuesday, July 13th, starting at 6:30 PM Pacific Time (9:30 PM Eastern), come watch the uStream at the Atomic Laundromat Channel. I will be inking some strips live (come get your sneak peeks!), chatting and answering whatever burning questions about the strip that you may have and streaming some tunes. I’ll post a reminder Monday! Also, you should follow me on Twitter for these late-breaking updates.

Lastly, I posted some new sketches at the Atomic Laundromat Facebook page – I’m defining the look for David’s little sister. Wondering about her peculiar appearance? Hint: she takes after her mother.

Forgot to comment on the little sister’s character designs… My opinion? I like the one with the long braid. I wouldn’t worry too much about it making her look too innocent; the black eyes create the perfect balance between cute and creepy, in my opinion. (Yes, I speak Spanish lol)

Is it just me or does she bear a resemblance to a certain “random” tiara wearing sketch we saw awhile back? I remember someone saying that she was going to end up being Davids little sister but i just can’t remember who. ;)
      But anyway..

I like the one in the bottom left with the buzz-saw poof but it depends on what her personality is like,if her power is screaming i would expect her to be rather temperamental. The buzz-saw looks very teenage, like the kind of teenager who uses “Pfft” as a regular word in her vocabulary.
The top right looks good too if she is more the uptight type.
And the top left would be good for a more bubbly attitude.

Oh yeah I almost forgot about that! First they were just sketches, then just the one is real, and now just that one and maybe the other one… but the rest are sketches. I’m seeing an awful lot of backpedaling here… At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if Wolverine really did show up at the laundromat one day.

Jeez, guys. Cut me a break here.

Given the release rates in effect when the third movie came out, was wondering if the last book would be released before the last movie.

    Okay, sooooo… 1830 Pacific is…. 0230 British Summer Time? On a weekday.

    Will be there.

Dude! Missed a line of text on David’s first bubble. It’s probably to be on it’s good side. The suspense is killing me!!!!

  7. Wolfen says:

She’s bossing her own boss around… Dunno if that’s bold, or stupid. Then again, this is David we’re talking about, so prolly the prior. Also, I think there’s a typo in David’s speech bubble in the first panel? I think you meant “It’s probably WISE to be on its good side” or something to that effect. And no offense, but I kinda don’t like the way you drew Juno in the first panel… The third eye is a bit too large, (it’s even larger than her regular eye) and the way it’s bulging just looks unnatural. Anyway, that’s my honest opinion. You ask for constructive criticism, so there it is.
And now, a question for you, Armando. I’ve noticed that Angie is always changing outfits, while David and Juno are almost always wearing the same, ratty old uniforms. Any particular reason for that?
(PS- I hope everyone reading today’s comic has already seen the movie, or at least read book 6 O_O )

    • Armando says:

      several points there.
      - Re: The drawing, I get what you mean. I may have stepped a little bit TOO much outside the box to draw Juno on this one, and it probably bit me. Edited a bit, but after reading your comment, could not unsee the flaw. That happens.
      - Re: the outfits… Theoretically, David is pretty much always working, and their outfits are kinda like the laundromat uniform. Of course, David is too lazy to change out of it afterwards. We have yet to see Juno off-duty though.
      - Re: the bossing around.. you know, I don’t know if I would call it that, I tried to convey a bit of frustration. Juno’s the employee (even if she does have an ulterior motive for working at the laundromat) but with things running out of control and your boss just hanging out watching TV… I would be upset.

    • OhHaiMe says:

It always reminds me of One Piece when the guys always wear the same thing but the girls constantly change outfits.

  8. Malcolm says:

Is there a word missing from David’s first speech bubble?

Juno, it’s YOUR fault when the duck wrecks trauma-enhanced-havoc!

  9. Tommy G says:

So Snape still kills Dumbleore in the movie? Wow. I’m impressed. I was guessing that’d he’d just crushed to death by an anvil or something. knowing Hollywood’s “Creative” Licence

  10. TLV says:

It also helps that the book was out in print well in advance to the movie going onto the big-screen. I know this may sound insane to some of yall, but yes, the books based on these such movies actually DO come out BEFORE the movie itself. And they are always subtely different from the movie.

    • Armando says:

I do remember the people screaming the spoiler at the people still in line to buy the book on release night. There are some pretty amusing/sad you tube videos of this…
