Exactly when again does this strip take place? 5 years is kind of a quick turn around to be an up-and-coming lawyer with a functioning practice, at least here in the States. And “4-H” extra-curriculars would probably be looked down upon at law school, so that can’t solve that year gap problem…
I’ve always thought about the strip as in the “indeterminate near future”, in “indeterminate city”. Given it’s this comic and universe, though, I could always chalk it up to a wormhole or pocket universe.
We have a guy who has superpowers from being bitten by a radioactive chinchilla. Fasttrack law practice doesn’t strain the credibility so much.
