The Mighty Cow (or whatever he winds up being named) seemed to be liked by several of you guys, so he’s back. It’s been a while since I posted a “Davidless” strip, so seemed like a good opportunity to do so.
This is not pandering.
At any rate, I’m hoping that I don’t get “the Batman Syndrome”. The problem with Batman is that you come for the Bat, but stay for the Joker — it sometimes comes to a point in which the villains are so colorful and plain cool that they overpower the hero (narratively). It’s not a bad problem to have per se — lots of cool villains makes them memorable (honestly, who remembers Superman’s villains beyond Lex Luthor?) but I do want to keep the focus balanced and continue to make people love David, Bob and Angela. Hopefully, they can be equally as interesting as the villains. Of which there are plenty to come…
And now I’ve got a craving to draw the Evil Chef meeting the Cow….
Bizarro, Myxzsptlk, and who can forget ZOD!!! Come on, Supes has many villains you remember… Arguably, Luthor is the most impressive… Zod, same powers as the son of Jor-El and minions… Bizarro similar if quasi-inverted powers of Him who am Bizzarro Best Friend, only without the logic to use them with restraint… Myxzsptlk can warp all time and space and has Gzpltzn as a Girlfriend (Why does he waste his time with The Big Blue boy Scout again?)… But Luthor just has brains, and wealth, and gadgets he designed or stole, and sometimes help from the others I mentioned, and Kryptonite… Wait… I was trying to say Luthor overcomes greater adversity by challenging the Alien, but come to think of it, he has all the other villains at his disposal and more, so maybe Luthor really is a viable threat to Clark… Yeah completely blew this Comment… maybe Kal-El can fly around the planet and reverse time so I never posted it…
